The 2nd Annual Salem Scramble would not be possible without the generous donations from our sponsors:
Join hundreds of Salem kids grades 1-8 for a fun-filled race through an age-appropriate obstacle course. This year is bigger and better with 24 total obstacles (13 are new for this year).
Approximate Race Times:
9-9:30 am -- Grades 6, 7, & 8
9:30-10:30 am -- Grades 4 & 5
10:30-11:30 am -- Grades 2 & 3
11:30-Noon -- Grade 1
Exact race times are dependent upon registrations.
Run through a maze, jump over barricades, crawl through mud, carry sand bags, traverse a ropes course, navigate a tire alley, climb a rock wall, and more.
We need your help! With 400 racers and 24 obstacles, the 2nd Annual Salem Scramble only succeeds through the generous donation of time from our school and community volunteers.
This year, we've made the process easier to join the effort and enjoy the event.
Nearly 340 area students participated in the 1st Annual Salem Scramble held Saturday, October 15 throughout the fields surrounding the high school and middle school. The event, organized by the Salem Pride committee, featured 20+ obstacles constructed and supported by the district's elementary and middle school PTA organizations.
Middle school students traversed a course that stretched from the high school football field through the middle school baseball fields and out through the Field of Dreams before finishing back at the football field. Elementary students ran an abbreviated 1-mile course sharing many of the same obstacles.
Students were required to run through a maze, jump over barricades, crawl through mud, carry sand bags, traverse a ropes course, navigate a tire alley, climb a rock wall, and more.
Plans are already being laid for next year's event, but several racers already added their recommendations -- "More mud!"
