Dear Parent/Guardian:

Our students have the opportunity to attend an educational field trip to The Seacoast Science Center Point in Rye, New Hampshire on Tuesday May 15, 2018.

 

At the Science Center, students will learn about the role of the New Hampshire Seacoast during the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. Students will learn about the Geology of the Seacoast and see examples of the Rock Cycle in action.

 

Departure date/time: May 15 at 8:45 am         Return date/time: May 15 at 1:45 pm

 

Transportation provided by First Student, Inc.

 

We will need additional Chaperones to ensure a smooth, safe, and exciting day. If you are interested, please indicate so below:

Recommended clothing/equipment/supplies: Students will be outdoors (rain or shine) for more than half of the day. Students are encouraged to wear water resistant closed-toe shoes for exploring the rocky seacoast and for the walking history tour. Hats, sunscreen, sweatshirts, rain jackets, and other weather-dependent clothing are also advised.  Students will need to bring a lunch. There is also a small gift shop that students may purchase souvenirs from if they choose.

 

Cost of Trip: $11
Costs trip is borne by the students. The cost includes: Transportation and Admission

 

The safety of all students is extremely important to the administration and staff of the Salem School District.  It is our obligation to take reasonable precautions for the safety and well-being of all students while on a field trip.  Your child is also required to act responsibly to ensure his/her safety and the safety of others.

 

In order to be certain that you understand all of the above information, we ask that you sign the consent form below and return it to school by Monday, May 7, 2018.
