          Welcome to 5^th Grade!  I am looking forward to a great year with your 5^th grade student.  As we move through this year, I will have high expectations for your child and I hope that we can work together to help them strive for excellence.  I believe in having children take ownership for their learning which needs to be meaningful and enjoyable.

11:45-12:00     Word Study

12:00-12:15     Read Aloud

12:15-1:00       Readers Workshop: Students read a variety of texts and participate in independent, whole and small group activities involving spelling, poetry, comprehension, reading response, research and grammar.

1:00-1:30         Intervention Block

1:30-2:15         Writers Workshop: Writers Workshop: Students use good writing practices to develop the craft of writing.

2:15-2:45            ST Math/Typing Agent (T & Th) Science (M, W, & F)
