Kristen McLaughlin's Classroom: About the Teacher

All About Mrs. McLaughlin

Welcome to Team 15! Prior to coming to Lancaster in 2015, I taught 5th grade for eleven years at North Salem. Before that, I taught for ten years in Massachusetts, where I taught Kindergarten, third grade, sixth grade, and Special Education. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Merrimack College and a Master's Degree in Special Education from Lesley University.

I live in Salem with my husband and two children. My husband teaches in the Business Department at Salem High School, where he is also the Varsity Basketball coach. My son, Matt recently graduated from Endicott College and my daughter, Caitlin is sophomore at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. We also run the Blue Devil Basketball Camp every summer - maybe you've been a camper!

When I'm not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Some of my hobbies include reading, running, cooking, volunteering, and going to the beach. I also work part-time for Boston Children's Hospital where I travel throughout New England to meet many of the wonderful people and businesses that support the hospital. I love meeting new people and sharing my positive experiences with Boston Children's Hospital, with those I meet.

I am excited to have a more "normal" school year and can't wait to meet all of my new students and their families! Enjoy the remaining days of summer and I'll see you soon!
