Reading: Please help your child build in 20 minutes of reading into their evening routine to enjoy a picture book, chapter book, a magazine article, an audiobook… the limits are endless!
ST Math: Students are expected to solve 100 puzzles each week. They will be given two class periods of about 30 minutes to solve puzzles in school. In order to meet the 100 puzzle expectation, students are responsible for working on ST Math for homework some nights. We recommend solve 25 puzzles each day so they have met the expectation by Friday.
Math Application Problem: This word problem is assigned in Google Classroom and on paper. Students know to use the RDW strategy: Read, Draw, Write. They must show their strategy on paper and answer the question in a complete sentence on Google Classroom. They must bring their paper to school and be prepared to share how they solved the problem with a partner. You and your child will know if there is a problem to complete by checking the upcoming work in Google Classroom.
Elementary students in Grades 2-5 will access Google Classroom with a district-issued username and password.
