App Creators is a block-based programming language which continues the knowledge learned from Innovators and Makers. Students will design and develop applications or “Apps”.
There are two routes students can take:
1. Self paced course through PLTW (Android device needed)
2. Self paced course through CS First and Scratch
To explore the ways in which technology affects our lives.
To learn how computer scientists design and develop mobile apps that meet desired needs.
To explore and model what effective teamwork looks like.
To introduce students to the field of computer science and the concepts of computational thinking, through the creation of mobile apps.
Students will be challenged to be creative and innovative, as they collaboratively design and develop mobile solutions to engaging, authentic problems.
Students will experience the positive impact of the application of computer science to society as well as to other disciplines, particularly biomedical science.
Students will be provided opportunities for self-expression. Teams identify a personal or community problem of interest to them that can be solved with a mobile app solution. The problem can address issues such as health and wellness, the environment, school culture, emergency preparedness, education, and community service.
This is a self paced course!
