Writers Workshop:11 Making Writing the Best It Can Be

In this session, you could teach students that writers pause before they finish a piece, using a checklist to make their writing the best it can be before publishing it.

Word Study Lesson

Handwriting/ Phonics

Children will learn the phonics chant  and proper formation for  the letter Vv.

Eureka Math: Lesson # 26

 Lesson Objective:Children will count 10 objects in a linear and array configuration (2 fives) Match with numeral 10. Children will write # 10.

Writer's Workshop:  Session 12

Writers get ready to write true stories by first practicing tell the stories. They tell all the little things that happen, including what people said and did. 

Today is a writing session. Print out the writing paper HERE. Students will practice writing and drawing a picture of something they can teach others about.

Word Study Session: NEW! Introducing Snap Words! 

 

Students will be introduced to the sight word "me". Students will read and highlight the word "me" and read the story Backyard Camping.

Eureka Math: Lesson 23:

Objective: Students will organize and count 9 varied geometric objects in a linear and array(3 threes) configuration. Place objects on a 5-group mat. Match with numeral 9

Children will learn that it is important to learn other words in a snap. Students will learn the series of steps to learn the words "me" and "a".

Writer's Workshop: Session 13

 Just as writers plan how information books will go, writers also plan how stories will go. Writers of story books plan from the start how the whole book will go. They touch each page as they tell their story. Then they turn the page to say the next thing that will happen.

Reader's Workshop Lesson #14:  

Reread Old Favorites, Remember to Say More and More of the story. In this session you'll teach your students how to use the words on the page to push themselves to say more when reading their old favorite storybooks.
