Melody Morton's Classroom: Math

Overview

These are the module units that we will be working on throughout the year. Each module builds off one another and becomes more complex throughout the unit. We will focus on using the RDW (read, draw, write) strategy to help us solve challenging multi-step word problems.

Module 1: Place Value and Decimal Fractions

Module 2: Multi-Digit Whole Number and Decimal Fraction Operations

Module 3: Addition and Subtraction of Fractions

Module 4: Multiplication and Division of Fractions and Decimal Fractions

Module 5: Addition and Multiplication of Volume and Area

Module 6: Problem Solving with Coordinate Plane

ST Math

Students will be completing priority cones that match our curriculum this year rather than working towards obtaining a specific puzzle amount. I will assign these cones to each student which will be completed prior to attempting the journey this year. We will work to explain and understand this new ST Math update in our first few weeks of school. See below for an idea of which priority cones match each module of our math this year!
