Lucia has jumped out to a great start posting a 5-0 record in singles! She would be 6-0 but we pulled her on one game that she would have played against a new tennis player. Lucia had done this because she heeded the coaches advice of playing "within her game" proving to the team that patience is truly a virtue - particularly in tennis.
Ryan had a difficult match against a member of the 4th ranked Exeter wrestling team. Despite being behind 14-5 at the 3rd period, his perseverance and training allowed him to turn the tables on his opponent and he won by pinfall with 1 minute left!
This is Sean's 1st season involved in Track and shot put which involves a great deal of technique. He learned the techniques quickly and with his high level of athletic skills, he started off with 34 feet and with only a month of work, he increased this to 39 feet! He has qualified for the next 2 meets and we are setting his sights hopefully on the State meet at Dartmouth in February.
This is Megan's 1st year playing basketball for SHS and she had 13 points and a number of rebounds in the opening night victory for girls JV basketball!! Coach Gatsas said she is a very good team mate and she is a pleasure to coach.
Krystyll was a major factor in the victory in Keene last week. She disrupted many scoring attempts and turned them into offensive plays. She played well on both offense and defense corners. Her work ethic and drive on the field is great to have.
Mitch is having a great 1st year with Salem. He had 3 goals and 3 assists in the last 2 games since coming off his injury!
Lucia is a hard worker and a huge contributor to the team both on and off the mat. She is a strong back spot and her tumbling skills have improved tremendously this season. She always comes to practice with a positive attitude and is ready and willing to work!
Doug had a great week and is having a great year. He had 68 rushing yards, 3 touch downs and 9 tackles.
Emily has had a great season on the swim team this year!
She made her first State cut time in the 50 Free!
Emily had 2 outstanding games both offensively and defensively for us. She scored a number of points but defensively had some steals and a number of rebounds. She is one of the major reasons we have started out 3-0 for the season!
Allie had 2 goals and 2 assists that helped her team to victory! She also had many nice plays inside the circle offensively.
