Welcome to Team 19!: ABOUT THE TEACHER

ABOUT THE TEACHER

Welcome to Team 19! For those of you who don't me, this is my 12th year teaching in Salem. Prior to coming to Lancaster, I taught 5th grade for eleven years at North Salem. Before that, I taught for ten years in Massachusetts, where I taught Kindergarten, third grade, sixth grade, and Special Education. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Merrimack College and a Master's Degree in Special Education from Lesley University.

I live in Salem with my husband and two children. Matt is a junior at Salem High School and Caitlin is an eighth grader at Woodbury Middle School. My husband teaches in the Business Department at Salem High School, where he is also the Varsity Basketball coach. We also run the Blue Devil Basketball Camp at Salem High School every summer. Maybe you've been a camper!

This past April, our family traveled to La Ceiba, Honduras to put the finishing touches on a school and playground we built in memory of my parents. It was an amazing experience for us all and I can't wait to tell you all about it! When I'm not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Some of my hobbies include reading, running, cooking, and going to the beach. I also work part-time for Boston Children's Hospital where I travel throughout New England to meet many of the wonderful people and businesses that support the hospital. I love meeting new people and sharing my positive experiences with Boston Children's Hospital, with those I meet.

I am looking forward to a fun and productive year with my new fourth graders and their families!
