Family and Consumer Sciences prepares students for life!

         Family & Consumer Sciences education empowers individuals and families to manage the challenges of living and working in a diverse global society. Our unique focus is on the family, work, community and their interrelationships.

              Woodbury School is a middle school comprised of grades six, seven and eight.  At Woodbury School, Family & Consumer Sciences (F.A.C.S.) is part of the Unified Arts (U.A.) program.  Students receive one quarter of F.A.C.S. in each grade.
            F.A.C.S. is an activity based, hands-on sequential program focusing on the following standards;

Career Exploration
Consumer and Resource Management
Food, Nutrition and Wellness
Human Growth and Development
Interpersonal Relationships

           In F.A.C.S., students actively build skills in food preparation, label reading and stress management. They also will learn how physical, social and mental/emotional health impacts self-esteem, body image and  decision-making.  This is a sampling of the Family & Consumer Sciences experience at Woodbury School.  Check out our grade level and recipe pages for more details!
