Irony is when the opposite of what is expected to happen actually happens.  There are three different types of irony: situational, verbal, and dramatic.  In class, we will be examining how an author uses irony to create suspense.  View the clips below (and take notes!) to gain a better understanding of irony and how these types of irony differ.
