Partnering with Parents to Enrich the Student Learning Experience

HOMEWORK

In addition to nightly reading, math workbook pages and/or other homework sheets may come home a few times weekly. (Homework is not assigned over the weekends but relaxing with a good book is so wonderful to encourage over these days!) Please be sure to check your child's planner and V.I.P. folder for homework and notices daily. You will be notified by a homework reminder slip if your child has a missing or incomplete homework assignment. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Homework provides an opportunity for practice and reinforcement of concepts learned in class, communicates to parents about the content their child is learning, and develops responsibility and time management. If your child is really struggling with a homework assignment, you may provide support but also please jot me a note so that I can be sure to re-visit that concept with your child. ST math and Typing Agent links can be found below- these are great to do at home a few times a week as well.

Building Fact Fluency (automaticity)- Math fact practice should focus on multiplication facts 0-10. Facts can be practiced in a variety of ways- apps, flashcards, written on a whiteboard or piece of paper, out loud in the car, etc.  More complex math concepts build on this foundation.  Thank you for your support in developing your child's fact fluency!
