5th Grade Band Program

Participating in a musical performing group is a great way for your child to experience the music program here in Salem.   Playing an instrument is a hands-on, cooperative activity that is designed to use and build upon musical skills and concepts, as well as make connections to core curriculum.

District Strings Program

The District Strings Program is open to all students in grades 3-12 who would like to play violin, viola, or cello. Strings is now offered during the school day in all buildings! 


Private Lessons

Private Lessons are open to any elementary, middle school, and high school student that is actively participating in the Salem School District Band, Chorus, or Strings program and will take place in the practice rooms of the Seifert Performing Arts Center housed at Salem High School starting at 2:30 pm Monday through Friday. All lessons are taught by qualified instructors that hold a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in either music performance or music education.
