Welcome to First Grade!!!

Dear Parents,

I apologize for the lateness of this letter, first and foremost. However, I would like to officially welcome you to room 223! I look forward to working with you and your child throughout the school year and to speaking with you at our Open House on Wednesday, September 7^th, 2022! Until then, here is a little information that you may need.

Snack/Lunch:

Please send a healthy snack and drink with your child to school each day-we take a short break each morning at about 10:15, to refuel the children and tide them over until lunch at 12:20. Please take a moment to talk with your child about the lunch menu and what they will be having. We do our lunch orders first thing in the morning and they will need to know what to mark down when they come in, whether it be one of the school options or if they have brought a home lunch with them.

Supplies:

We at Fisk, provide all of the supplies that your child will need- however, new school supplies are part of the fun of coming back and being ready for school. You are welcome to send any special school supplies you may have bought for the brand new year. My only requirement is that the supplies fit inside your child’s desk neatly.

Dismissal:

If your child is going home by any means other than his or her assigned bus, please use the Pick Up Patrol app to notify us of any changes. A note to me, and/or an email or phone call to the office are perfectly fine. I just need to be sure they are getting home safely to you every day!

Specials Schedule:

Monday - Music

Tuesday - Library

Wednesday - P.E. (wear comfortable shoes)

Thursday – Guidance (every other week, beginning Sept 8^th)

Friday –Art

Communication:

• As you can see my libguide/teacher page is beginning to e set up. Please allow me a week or so to get things up to speed. You can always email me from here though if you have a question or concern. 
• My Remind class is also not quite set up but will be soon. As soon as it is I will send you a notification to join our class and you can reach me through that at any time during school hours.
• A note in their folder for any minor changes, questions or concerns is always acceptable as well. I encourage as much communication as possible between you and I as your child’s education is my passion and focus.
