Course Description

FINE ARTS 1 Course# 610, Grades 9-12, 1/2 Credit, Quarter This introductory course is designed for the student who feels he or she cannot draw but would like to learn how. Through a series of exercises, the concepts of line, space, shape, form, value, texture and color will be explored. Emphasis will be on developing skills in disciplines such as drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. Fine Arts 1 is intended as a beginning course in art suitable for all students. For those planning to continue in art, Fine Arts 1 is intended to prepare the student for enrollment in Fine Arts 2, Drawing & Composition, Jewelry Design, Painting, and Sculpture.
