Ensuring the health and well-being of our workers and families.
Salem School District Food Service continues to prepare and deliver meals to area families during this distance learning period while following strict safety measures to ensure the health and well-being of our workers and families.
Food service workers were trained by Salem High School nurses in the safety measures necessary to maintain and monitor their own health and in the protocols of social distancing. Their commitment to following self-quarantine guidelines is the first line of defense in preventing exposure to food service workers and customers.
Food service workers take their temperature daily before coming on site and have been instructed to stay home for any of the following standards set out by the CDC:
All food service program participants are wearing masks and gloves and the food preparation facilities are disinfected after every meal service day.
We’ve instituted no-touch delivery protocols where meals are placed on the ground at designated bus stops or within a customer-supplied repository.
We’re confident these measures will ensure the safety of both our workers and meal recipients for the duration of this remote learning environment. We are also committed and prepared for transparent “contact tracing” of employees and recipient families should an infection be reported.
