Summer Enrichment Program: Summer Explorers

Summer Explorers

For students who completed grades 1-5 in June 2024

Course Description

Are you ready for Summer Explorers? Weekly themes will help set the tone for all sorts of activities where kids can learn, explore, and discover. In Serving Our Community, Salem Police will visit us to talk about what it’s like being a police officer, and we’ll also get to tour a police car and meet Rhea, the police department’s comfort dog.  Salem Fire Department will also visit us and take us on a tour of their fire truck, and we may even be able to get wet under the fire hose. We will also do our own community service acts. In Wild in N.H., we will learn about wilderness and waters in our state. We’ll use curriculum kits which include a real moose skull and antlers, and animal pelts from N.H. and animal tracks.  You will also meet Shelldon, Mrs. Mieczkowski’s red-eared slider! In Marine Science, we will talk about sea life, and Seacoast Science Center’s Outreach program will visit us with small hands on creatures for students to hold. Each student will receive a real sand dollar to take home. In Fun with Friends, we will spend time with our friends drawing, painting and creating lots of fun arts and crafts. Each week will introduce a new theme….join us for one or all!  Bring a snack and water bottle.
