Assignment

Summer Reading: Novel in Verse

Essential Questions:

  • What is the profound effect of trauma?
  • What duty do we have to break cycles of abuse and violence?
  • How do we rise above against systemic racism, misogyny, and injustice?

For your Summer Reading, you will be choosing one of the following novels in verse:

Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds

The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo

There are currently three electronic copies of each book available in Sora.  As they are a novel in verse they do not take long to read.  Please return your copy if you finish it before your due date.  Books are checked out to you for two weeks and will return automatically.
