Reading Support Services
Under the leadership of Tara Bazydlo, Director of Literacy, and in collaboration with building principals, Salem’s elementary Literacy Specialists direct reading and writing instruction and assessment.
As resident literacy experts across Salem’s five elementary schools, Literacy Specialists ensure every student receives high-quality instruction aligned with district standards. They empower classroom teachers through coaching and professional development while directing interventions for students who need extra support. This includes overseeing Title I–funded, NH-certified teachers and reading assistants to deliver targeted academic care.
