Are you looking for a fun learning experience for your child this summer? Salem School District's Summer Enrichment programs are open for registration!
Whether your child wants to explore programs like legos or theater, or learn to express their creative side, we have something for all students! Non Salem school district students are welcome to join.
The 2026 summer program runs Monday, June 22 through Friday, August 7, 2026. Classes will not meet on Friday, July 3.

Have you ever wondered if it would be fun to be in a play? Are you a seasoned actor looking to practice new performance skills? No matter your level of experience, join our Actor's Workshop and hone your performance skills. We will work together for a week on building strong characters, getting comfortable on stage, and bringing a short show from concept to performance! Wear comfortable clothing and shoes you can dance in, and bring a water bottle and snack. For students completing grades 4-8 in June 2026.

Calling all performers! Help us bring the stage to life with a summer theater workshop and musical production. Open to students entering grades 6-9, we will have the experience of bringing an entire show to life, from audition to performance. Students will also learn aspects of technical theater such as costume design, set painting, and prop making. We will have a performance for family and friends on the final day. We hope to see all of you for a great time! Wear comfortable clothing and shoes you can dance in, and bring a water bottle and snack. For students completing grades 5-8 in June 2026.

Calling all budding performers! Help us bring the stage to life with a summer theater workshop! Open to students entering grades 3-5, we will sing, dance, make props, and participate in theater games designed to build skills related to performance and collaboration…all while having fun! The world of art is a fun and adventurous way for kids to venture into a world where anything goes. In this class, students will be able to express their creative side! We will have the opportunity to use our imaginations and creativity as we use recycled materials to make wind chimes and planters, and work with clay, canvas painting, rock art, and more. We may get messy, so bring an old shirt or apron to wear over your clothes. For students completing grades K-5 in June 2026.

Soap making is a fun and educational project. All you need are a few easily accessible items and the basics, and you will be a pro at making your own bars in no time. We’ll learn the soap making process, and then experiment with different colors, soap molds, and scents to create summery soaps that may include sea salt and orchid, mango coconut milk, New Hampshire lilac, and island spa. Students will make two bars of soap and will learn everything they need to make their own bars at home! For students completing grades 4-8 in June 2026.

Become your favorite super hero and unlock your super hero powers! Our focus each day will be on confidence, kindness, and strength. We’ll have fun designing our own superhero identity, and participating in training missions and kindness challenges. Students will create capes and masks, and go on team problem-solving missions. This basketball clinic introduces players to the game and builds strong fundamental skills. Together we will develop the following skills: dribbling, proper shooting form, defense/defensive stance, passing, rebounding, and more! Skills will also be carried over through fun basketball games, stations, and live game play. Section 03 will cater to students with diagnosed disabilities. Using visuals and accommodations, the skills and instruction of basketball will be modified and individualized to these students. Please wear comfortable clothing and sneakers and bring a water bottle. For students completing grades K-5 in June 2026.

Unlock creativity, teamwork, and big ideas in this mural painting adventure. Artists of all levels are welcome to join as we explore art in a fun, supportive environment and create a mural for the gym at Salem’s Haigh School. Learn the full process of creating a large-scale mural: brainstorming themes, sketching designs, choosing colors, collaborating with peers, and finally painting a mural on the gym wall together. Bring a lunch and drink, and wear clothes you won’t mind getting paint on. For students completing grades 8-11 in June 2026.

Take up crochet this summer! Those new crochet or those with some crochet experience will practice their skills while making a few fun projects. Section 01 is for beginning crocheters. We’ll learn the basics like how to hold the hook and yarn and how to do a chain stitch and single crochet. We may make chain necklaces, bracelets, or bookmarks. Section 02 is for those who have completed the beginning class or who know how to do some crochet, and are ready to do something more advanced such as crocheting an amigurumi stuffed yarn creature. Dungeons & Dragons welcomes new and experienced players alike! Dungeons & Dragons, or D&D, is a collaborative role-playing game where players create a character and pilot them through a fantasy themed adventure. Throughout the adventure, led by our instructor, players will work together to overcome obstacles and solve problems. No experience is necessary to join and have fun! Bring your device, pencil, and dice (if they don’t have one, we can provide them). For students completing grades 5-7 in June 2026.

Baking is a fun skill that releases creativity and provides delicious results. If you love baking or just want to learn how, join us as we work together to make easy desserts that are sure to please. Learn basic baking methods such as the creaming method, muffin method, and yeast dough production. We will make and enjoy baked goods like muffins, cookies, crepes, and more in the fun, hands-on class. Please let us know of any allergies upon registration. Bring a snack and drink. Did you know there are more disc golf courses in the US than Dunkin Donuts locations? Chances are one is closer than you think. This fun sport has been around for over 50 years and is a great way to enjoy the outdoors while getting some great exercise. Here you will learn the rules of the game and the basics of throwing discs, starting with field work and working up to actual rounds on a new local course being constructed on school grounds! Some experience throwing a frisbee helps but is not required. Wear sneakers or hiking boots and comfortable clothing. For students completing grades 5-11 in June 2026.

Students will have the opportunity to learn how to compose and create music in a professional environment and with dedicated instruction. By the end of the session, students will know how to create, develop, and record music of their interest as well as have a professionally recorded product of their time to showcase. Soccer Skills and Drills, open to all levels, will focus on soccer skill development and will help to promote soccer engagement. Our sessions will begin with stretching/warm-ups, skill development drills, soccer related games, scrimmage (playing) component, and stretch/cool down. Students will work on basic beginner techniques to more advanced techniques during the drill component of the session. The second portion of the session will be fun interactive games and competitions surrounding specific soccer skills. Lastly, each day students will showcase their learning in organized scrimmages and compete in small-sided games. What are the skills that will lead your child to classroom success? In K-1 bootcamp, students will learn to become the best students they can be! In the Art of the Transition, we will practice moving smoothly between activities—from independent desk work to gathering on the rug with friends—so that school schedules feel predictable and safe. Whole-Body Listening allows us to learn how to focus our eyes, ears, and bodies to become active participants in group lessons. Power of Participation will practice impulse control, such as raising hands to speak and waiting for a turn, in a supportive and encouraging way. Social Navigation, through supervised and modeled play, will show students how to collaborate on projects, share materials, and use kind words to solve problems with peers. Lastly, Playground Safety will take our learning outside to practice safe, inclusive play on the equipment, ensuring everyone feels welcome and secure. Join Ms. Calie on a culinary adventure this summer! For students who enjoy cooking and eating, we will roll up our sleeves and make an assortment of sweets and savories with the help of visuals, and we will learn about where ingredients come from. We may make yummy goodies like dirt cake, brownie batter dip, breakfast sushi, frozen yogurt bark, cheese quesadillas, omelets, no bake cheesecake, and more. Students will receive cards to write on and take home so they can replicate their favorite creations at home. Upon registration, please indicate student allergies. Please bring a water bottle. Summer of Discovery sparks curiosity through messy, hands-on sensory play. By prioritizing exploration, we will support cognitive growth, fine motor skills, and social-emotional regulation. Join this introductory camp to LEGO robotics. Students will learn the basics of mechanical assembly, programming, and testing of a robotic system using the LEGO Mindstorms platform in a fun, interactive, and team-based environment where they will be able to test their creativity and complete design challenges. Families will be invited on the final day so students can show off their robots and compete for the summer challenge champion position! Bring a water bottle and snack. Confirmations for summer programs will not be immediately sent out. Families will receive an email with important program information as we get closer to the start of their enrichment class.

Pay special attention to the grade your child needs to complete in June 2026 in order to join a class

- Students will not be added to the class roster until both registration and payment have been received. Regrettably, we are not able to save spots without a registration.

All classes will indicate the grade your child should have completed in June 2026. Please pay special attention to the grade requirement as you register.

We do not send immediate confirmations. Families will be sent an email with important class information as we get closer to the start date.

Register early! A course may be canceled if there is insufficient enrollment. In that instance, a full refund will be issued.

All students are welcome to join an enrichment program, he or she does not need to be a Salem student.

Transportation is not available for summer enrichment programs.

Classes will not meet on Friday, July 3. Any other do not come dates will be outlined in the course schedule.

If you withdraw at least five business days (Monday-Friday) before the start of an enrichment class, you may request a refund. Once a class begins, refunds will not be issued.
